Thursday April 16th, Ze Marcelo, held a seminar at Team Agua in The Hague.



This was also a graduation training and several of our members got new belts.

Team Agua started to teach BJJ classes in Rotterdam on Saturdays from 13.00 - 15.00.
Since we have a lot of members coming from Rotterdam to follow classes with us in The Hague, we decided to open a location closer to them in the centre of Rotterdam.

World Judo Champion Guillame

Elmont was training too.

The Team Agua kids, trained by Henk Heneweer (Kaishin) in Almere, competed at the Holland Gi Challenge and drew a lot of attention.



It was the first time that kids competed in BJJ in Holland and everybody was very impressed with their performance!

The Holland Gi Challenge is the biggest BJJ tournament in Holland and had around 200 competitors from countries like France, Belgium, Germany, UK, Greece, Italy, Spain Rumania and Holland.



We won the trophy for best team, with a large lead in points.

Team Agua Amsterdam hosted a seminar with Marcus Vinicius, 4th degree black belt from the Beverly Hills JJ Club.

Rene Hoekstra (Vulkan gi), who trains at Team Agua Ede, went to Portugal to compete at the European Championships.



He came home with the bronze medal, congrats!

Team Agua has started it’s preparation for the Holland Gi Challenge 2009 which will be on February 15th.



The tournament will be in one month, so trainings are getting more intense!

12 competitors, 11 medals!! Even tough we went with a smaller team, everybody did great and we got 2nd place in the Team Results.

Marco Barbosa, a multiple world champion and great teacher, taught seminars and classes with our team in The Hague, Amsterdam & Ede.!

Fariq Ishaak, a member of our team in The Hague, went to Hong Kong and trained with the local teams.

Team Agua is training hard to prepare for the Amsterdam Open on the 26th of October 2008.

Jessie Gibbs wins by KO in Deep M-1 Japan

On July 17th Jessie fought in Japan at the M-1 Challenge against Katsuhisha Fuji.

Marc Stappers, a blue belt from Team Agua and also a Judo black belt, went to compete at a Judo Ne Waza (groundfighting) tournament. He won gold in his division and showed his Jiu Jitsu to the Judo guys.

Team Agua took first place as best team at the Zona No Gi Cup 2008. This was also noticed by the worlds best BJJ and Grappling magzine: GRACIE MAG.

Team Agua wins at Grappling Ede.

Augusto Ferrari and Henk Heneweer went to Ede to represent Team Agua in a Dutch Grappling tournament in Ede.

Augusto won his category and defeated Pride star Gerard Mousasi in the finals. Henk got 3rd place in the advanced class

Augusto Ferrari, who got 2nd at this years CBJJE Mundials, spent a few days with us giving classes and a seminar.

During his stay, he showed us a lot of new techniques and graduated Sinister Matic to the rank of blue belt.

Omar defeated all of his opponents in the -70 kg division and also got the gold medal.

Team Agua went to the Dutch Open 2007 and took home various medals.
